Series Introduction and Overview

This page introduces the material, gives an overview of the series and lists the weekly titles. You will find the links to the weekly titles at the bottom of the page.

The series is designed to look at some of the evidence for Jesus from a child’s perspective.

The series looks at some of the factual and anecdotal evidence and shows why we can trust the Bible. It also looks at John the Baptist and the Apostle Paul as key characters in Bible History bearing witness to Jesus’ life. John gave evidence before Jesus came and Paul through his letters gave evidence after Jesus’ resurrection.  The parable of the Good Shepherd is included to give evidence of Jesus’ character.

Lead-in Sessions

Lead-ins have been put together to be fun and entertaining. They include, the old time town crier, a court room scene, fun with a giant letter and a couple of archaeologists digging for ancient relics. The lead-ins are generally themed to link to the Bible chats that follow on.

Bible Chats

These are a little different to other series in that they don’t relate specifically around a particular Bible account, story or scripture. Bible chats are somewhat more generalised, providing insight into the evidence for Jesus but also depict His wonderful love and concern for mankind through the parable of the Good Shepherd. .

Response Time

Response time continues the ‘Evidence’ theme enabling the kids to engage discussion and reflection with their group leader and fellow team members.

Week 1 - John - God’s Town Crier - (Lead-in town crier drama) John the Baptist gave evidence that Jesus was coming. .
Week 2 - ‘Evidence for Jesus’ - A brief introduction to the evidence for Jesus and trustworthiness of the Bible (lead-in archaeologist’s drama). Factual and anecdotal evidence for Jesus and the Bible.

Week 3 - Jesus the Good Shepherd (lead-in courtroom drama). Evidence of what Jesus is like.

Week 4 - Paul - God’s Letter Writer - (lead-in drama about a giant letter). Evidence about Jesus from letters written by Paul.
