9 - TOWER BUILDING
Another old time favourite, watching teams compete to build a paper / cardboard cup tower the quickest without it tumbling down before time is called.
Some paper / cardboard cups may need to be used in conjunction with pieces of paper or card to enable them to be stacked.
EQUIPMENT & DEFINITIONS:
10 - 12 paper or cardboard cups per team.
If necessary 10 -12 pieces of paper or card.
30 second countdown timer (it’s good if the timer is on screen as this adds to the excitement but not essential, timer could be a stopwatch, tablet…).
Marker for each team.
Game-leader - person running game.
Team leaders - people leading the teams.
Ask team leaders to line their players up behind their team marker and number them - 1,2,3,4,5… front to back (if one of the teams are down on a player compared with others, someone will need two numbers so that they can go twice to cover the shortage of a player.)
To commence play, the game-leader calls out a random number, the team member of that number goes down the hall to their pile of cups and starts to build a tower, simultaneously the 30 second timer is started. The cups must be stacked in a single cup tower one upon another. When time is up, it’s the tallest tower that get the points.
