2 - SHOPPING GAME

Two teams compete to see who can produce the item of shopping required by the leader first.

IMPORTANT: All shopping items to be carefully chosen so that they are completely child safe.

All boxes, cartons, packets and the like to be empty, clean and sealed and child safe. Where appropriate empty packets may be filled with suitable padding and safely and securely sealed.

Equipment

  • Two identical lots of shopping items, one for each team, approx 15 items.

  • Table(s) at front of area of play on which shopping items are set down

  • Large shopping bag

  • Scoreboard and pen

how to play

Position each lot  of shopping  at the back of the room on a table or the floor. Choose 4 runners from each team. The leader calls out for an item. For example, the leader might say something like 'I want something to pour on my cereal', the runner goes to the box and might find a milk carton, they then go to the front and place it in the shopping bag. The first team to do this wins that point. The game is played until time is called.
