7 - SOFT BALL CATCH

Players compete to be first to get all of their balls into the hooped nets.

equipment:

  • 2 hooped nets.

  • 6 - 8 soft light weight balls.

  • Suitable markers or tape to mark each of the throwing positions of the 2 teams.

How to play:

Choose 6 children from each team - 4 players and 2 catchers. The 4 players line up at the front opposite their respective teams. The 2 catchers are also up front on stage. 4 soft balls are placed at the back of each of the teams. A leader to be positioned at the back looking after the balls.
On the command of ‘GO’, the leader passes the first ball to someone on the back row, they in turn pass it forward to the next row who pass it forward to the next and so on through the team. When the ball reaches the front row player 1 takes it and aims for their teams hooped net throwing the ball forward.
The process is repeated until all 4 players have taken a shot at the net.
The winning team is the one with the most soft balls in their net, or, the team to finish first and with the most balls netted.
